1. Who We Are

StackingBirdies.com is a golf content aggregation website that curates instructional and entertainment videos from YouTube alongside original written articles and insights. Our platform is designed to make golf content more accessible by organizing and presenting relevant resources in one place. In addition to publishing our own content, we embed and reference third-party media to enhance the user experience while maintaining a focus on delivering helpful and informative golf-related material..

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information needed to operate the site and serve relevant advertising:

• Automatically collected: IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, pages visited, and time spent on page — collected via Google Analytics (see below).
• Cookies: Small files stored in your browser to remember your cookie consent choice and support advertising. See Section 3.
• Newsletter sign-up: If you subscribe, we collect your email address and the date/time of your consent. See Section 6.
• No account registration: We do not require or offer user accounts. We do not collect your name, address, or payment information.

5. YouTube Video Embeds

Videos on this site are embedded from YouTube using the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com domain. Under this mode, YouTube does not store information about visitors unless they choose to play the video.

When you click to play a video, YouTube may set cookies and collect data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. We have no control over data collected by YouTube/Google once a video is played.

6. Newsletter & Email (CASL)

We offer an optional weekly newsletter. Subscription is governed by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL):

• We collect your email address only with your express consent, given by checking the consent checkbox at sign-up.
• We record the date, time, and exact consent language shown at the time of sign-up.
• Every newsletter email includes a clear, working unsubscribe link. Opt-outs are honoured within 10 business days.
• We never sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for their marketing purposes.

7. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected to:

• Operate and improve the site (analytics, performance monitoring)
• Serve and optimise advertising via Google AdSense
• Send the StackingBirdies weekly newsletter (only to subscribers who gave express consent)
• Remember your cookie preferences
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

8. Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: Google Analytics and Google AdSense process usage data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.
• Email platform: Newsletter emails are sent via a third-party email service provider (e.g. Mailchimp). Only your email address and consent timestamp are shared.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or regulatory authority.
• Business transfer: In the event of a merger or sale of the site, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the same privacy protections.

9. Data Retention

• Analytics data: Retained in Google Analytics for 14 months, then automatically deleted.
• Newsletter subscriptions: Retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. CASL consent records are kept for 3 years from the date of consent as required by law.
• Cookie consent preference: Stored in your browser's localStorage until you clear it or change your preference.

10. Your Rights (PIPEDA / Law 25)

Under PIPEDA and, where applicable, Québec's Law 25, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• Withdraw consent for non-essential data processing (including newsletter subscription)
• Request deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal retention obligations
• File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you believe your rights have been violated

11. Children's Privacy

StackingBirdies.com is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Last updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. For material changes, we will provide a more prominent notice.
